City Reusable Waste

Every year, North Americans still hold on to over $975 per household of reusable items or resort to curbside and bin dumping due to no convenient means of donating.

Being a smart city means rethinking what is sent to the landfill and looking for alternative ways to reuse and recycle as much as possible.

Reusing and repurposing can prevent the waste of potentially useful materials and reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, thereby reducing energy usage, air pollution, and water pollution from landfills.

Most people wouldn’t think of trash as a major root of these problems. Despite this, utilizing innovative waste management strategies can be a surprisingly effective way to address these complex issues all at once.

Most forward-thinking cities have a “Zero Waste” program in place and are working diligently towards that goal, however, major problems are encountered with curbside dumping and illegal dumpster deposits.

The main identifier is there is NO CONVENIENT MEANS OF DONATING. Many city residents do not own a truck or even a vehicle to transport items.

Unfortunately, charitable donation programs do not serve residential towers or the city core, so options are very limited.

CheckSammy is the solution to this missing piece. We work with cities to identify the gaps in their progress to Zero Waste and design a program that meets their specific needs.

NO CONVENIENT MEANS OF DONATING

Every year, North Americans still hold on to over $975 per household of reusable items or resort to curbside dumping due to no convenient means of donating.

Many city residents do not own a vehicle or do not have a truck so their options are very limited.

CheckSammy closes this gap to help address your city’s Zero Waste goals and curbside dumping.

The City Problem Begins Here

Unused, perfectly good items often get tossed into trash bins and end up in landfills.

Distribution of Bags to Households

We will deliver bags to residents along with education flyers on the CheckSammy Reuse Program. We can also customize flyers in common languages if desired. Bags are then loaded with textiles, electronics, toys, sports goods, books, kitchenware, etc.

Convenient Curbside Pick Up

We will coordinate the pickup of bags / bins with your current programs. Whether it is recycling schedules or large-item pickup programs, we will customize to suit your needs.

CheckSammy Distribution Centre

Items are sorted, then redirected to thrift stores and charitable organizations.

Our Technology

CheckSammy provides smart cities invaluable data, never before collected, by way of efficient technologies.

Smart cities use data and technology to create efficiencies, improve sustainability, create economic development, and enhance quality of life factors for people living and working in the city.

Our reporting structure can be customized to suit your city’s individual needs.

Whether it’s regarding types of reusables collected, or diverting certain items for city programs (ie: winter coats for the homeless population).

Our DISTRIBUTION CENTERS

We work with local charities and e-waste recycling programs to distribute collected items to the appropriate organizations.

Our goals of landfill diversion continue beyond the collection process no matter the materials that are donated.
